Maybe in tropical climates.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Only "might" mind!

Thats how I feel!
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

For those who have shelled out for RAH, doesn't it make you feel slightly cheated? A not to be missed event that is a bit like a buying the Crystal Days boxset to find it is re-released in a cheaper format later. I do a little bit, but surely if this a 30th anniversary gig it shouldn't just be the playing of Ocean Rain from start to finish. It should have some difference, namely it should cover anything within the 30 years of Mac and Will working together. Chance to get your Electrafixion wish-lists in. Maybe that'll be a no chance.

Will the 30th gig have the orchestra involved? Maybe that's the difference? probably it'll be just like the 25th anniversary shows fromw a few years back.

Anything to do with Electrafixion would be welcomed.

I had no idea other bands were doing the special album performances as well. Thought it was something the Bunnymen came up with on their own.

Yes, I do feel cheated  Doing the Ocean Rain concert as a one-off at RAH is special. Doing it again somewhere else, it's not. Next, they'll be taking it on tour. I'm seriously considering not going. At this point, I'm only out the price of a concert ticket.

I wish they'd considered doing something different to acknowledge their 30th anniversary. Too bad Drummond's not still driving the bus. No doubt, he'd have come up with something memorable.

I'll bet that's the difference. Hiring an orchestra is not cheap and it would devalue the RAH show to have one at the 30th gig too.

I do think that repeating the performance of Ocean Rain in its entirety cheapens the specialness of the RAH gig. Maybe they'll be taking this show on the road. Kind of like the 21st century version of Jesus Christ Superstar. Or Godspell.

I don't really listen to her music, but last summer Lucinda Williams played something like 5 nights in a row in Hollywood where she played, in the order they were released originally, a different album from beginning to end each night. I thought that was pretty cool. I can think of a lot of bands I'd like to see do that.

God forbid. I know many of us were getting slightly bored with the setlist from the standard Bunnymen gig, but a long-term Ocean Rain tour, no way. I can understand in some ways why they might repeat it up in Liverpool, give the northerners a bit of fairness when we southerners only have to travel a few miles into London. But I say for a little bit more fairness, they should at least take the "Ocean Rain" circus to the US. Play a few dates here and there, so then the American fans who can't afford to splash out to come over here, will also get their bit too. Other than those, leave it that.

They've had that chance for the past 30 years and in the last 6 or so they haven't varied.

Why not just put it on in Liverpool first day, then?

Play a few dates here and there, so then the American fans who can't afford to splash out to come over here, will also get their bit too

I think we all realise by now that it's not about keeping fans happy but about economics i.e. maximum profit. Taking a show to the US costs a lot of money - maybe more than the end profit would be worth.
I just wonder how long (or if) the RAH would have sold out had there been knowledge of the Liverpool concert at the time.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

Sure. What the hell. Why not. They can bring the circus to the Hollywood Bowl or the Greek Theatre. Play Ocean Rain with the Philharmonic. Willie Nelson did it. Why not them too? Then I don't have to blow my tax refund -- and my special economy-stimulating rebate from Uncle Sam -- to see it at the RAH

Meanwhile, I like that X is celebrating its 31st anniversary with special shows

Maybe Willie Nelson can play with the Bunnymen at the Hollywood Bowl
