Is Les sick or is this a ticket sales issue again? This is from October

We are really sorry about Glasgow getting cancelled. We have got ourselves into a bit of a catch 22 situation. As we have re-arranged the gigs twice before, firstly to move the gig near the album release and then again as Les got sick. Understandably confidence has be lost in us and the tickets haven't exactly been flying out. I don't blame the Glaswegians for being cautious and seeing if it was on or off, and just buying the tickets on the night. The problem is the Promotor looks at the ticket sales and advised us that they didn’t want to risk putting the gig on, and have us playing to a virtually empty room. If we do get to schedule another Glasgow gig please buy your tickets in advance you can always get a refund if anything unforeseen happens.
We are as sorry and upset about this as you are. We were really looking forward to playing in Glasgow undeniably the best place on planet earth for bands to play.

That post above is probably one of the most embarrassing things I've ever read relating to shows/cancellations, etc. Can't imagine being in my mid-50s groveling and asking for people to buy tix to a show where they probably only needed 75 people to go on with it and didn't even get that.

Yes, you may have gotten a couple albums in 2 different genres recently that some felt they 'had' to like but what a waste of the past 2 years (in my book anyway). It only led to more cancelled shows than played ones, the albums only sold a few hundred copies Worldwide, etc. I don't read their facebook pages anymore as it's always one big train wreck or they're trying to push some other crap out there.

No one that I know personally has spoken to Les, they only saw some of the others so who knows. I hope he gets better if he is ill. It doesn't sound like Will had much to look forward to besides that one Poltergeist show but booking another so hastily was stupid. I can't believe anyone thought that was a good career move during the off-Bunnymen money making time. Think they ended up losing money on Poltergeist so far and looking quite bad as well.

I couldn't care less how they look, or how much they've made. It's a great album. So, at least artistically they can be proud.

i think we need to agree a numbering scheme on bunnymen before we decide if we have to like the output. Noel era is generally regarded as as Mk II, which would make evergreen era Mk III - but that's really MKI revisited (this is questionable depending on whether any of the drummers has been as reliable as the drum machine) and Pete era is MK II following on from mini-pops era, making noel era Mk III. Thus current buns lineup (The Lord McCulloch & Sargeant plus ever-rotating supporting cast) is Mk IV. If you're suggesting Poltergeist is MK III its really MK V - though if we say that, saying a band by a different name is really the same band - we migth have to acknowledge 'fixion as Mk IV, making current Mk V (or possible Mk VI) and poltergeist as Mk VI (or MK VII). Which brings us back to the footy analogy, you pick your team and thats it for life whoever is the centre forward, and if its not one of the top four premiership teams, more of the vauxhall conference I suspect, then you don't feel obliged to like it but you still turn up now and again hoping for a bit of artistry no the field.

I was going with the easy route (no Mac) after the Noel era. You make a fine analogy there though. FC, your lineup is Premiership quality while mine is just the after school footy. Artistry + showmanship. I think both are important.

Really loved that post. :)

More bloody repeats? You're like the VT equivalent of UK Gold.
