Giorgio Moroder gave us I Feel Love and New Order (Sumner) wanted that synth sound.

With the passing of Donna Summer, we here at Death and Taxes decided it was a great time to celebrate one of the late 20th century’s great collaborative music relationships: Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder. Summer the diva and Moroder the Italo Disco emprasario. Of course, producer Pete Belotte was also an integral part of this winning disco formula.
Their music influenced early House, Techno and New Wave, particularly the Frankie Knuckles & Jamie Principle song “Your Love” and New Order’s “Blue Monday.” Traces of Summer and Moroder’s “I Feel Love” can even be heard in something as icily gothic as Ladytron’s “Destroy Everything You Touch.”
