Greg Oblivian is 40 something southern gentleman who just rocked out for a couple hours. They didn't play "I'm Holding Out" but they played "Drowning" which had the bar moving. A few days later it's hard to piece together my thoughts. It was pretty much a religious experience (helped by the fact every song had organ on it!). They don't get out often but if they're in your neighborhood and have even the slightest fondness for garage/punk/soul/rock/gospel music then these are your guys.
The three opening bands all sucked but one. They were an instrumental surf rock band and they introduced their songs like this:
"This one's a love song. It's called "I'm Not Pulling Out".
"This one goes out to all the fat guys. It's called "Show Me Your Tits".
"This song is about your mom. It's called "I Fucked Her Up the Butt".
As you can imagine the third song went over pretty well with me.
Hope no one went over well on you
