Oblivians

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Greg Oblivian is 40 something southern gentleman who just rocked out for a couple hours. They didn't play "I'm Holding Out" but they played "Drowning" which had the bar moving. A few days later it's hard to piece together my thoughts. It was pretty much a religious experience (helped by the fact every song had organ on it!). They don't get out often but if they're in your neighborhood and have even the slightest fondness for garage/punk/soul/rock/gospel music then these are your guys.

The three opening bands all sucked but one. They were an instrumental surf rock band and they introduced their songs like this:

"This one's a love song. It's called "I'm Not Pulling Out".

"This one goes out to all the fat guys. It's called "Show Me Your Tits".

"This song is about your mom. It's called "I Fucked Her Up the Butt".

As you can imagine the third song went over pretty well with me.

Hope no one went over well on you

I wasn't hit on a single time. I must have been so hot as to seem unapproachable. Curse my good looks, rock hard body and charisma!
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

BeeFer goes to these wild concerts - but when I visit I get to see some ancient cover band with camel-toed female bass player. To top it off, a 90 year old guy tears up the 12 by 12 linoleum dance floor with the only hot girls in the bar.

And then when I order a "Blue" I get two of some shitty beer I never heard of before.
