Icehouse

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Icehouse

I love this band from the 80's and beyond. I was just running errands and played their self titled album "Icehouse" (originally they called themselves Flowers (wtf?!) but eventually changed their name to Icehouse). It brought back great memories of my friend at the time who introduced me to them but also made me sad because I can't think of one new band from today that makes me want to buy their music like I used to get excited about back then. I did recently get into The Black Keys, but it's not the same

Just saw them perform said album at Homebake festival in Sydney early December.Voice still great. Also added some extra songs such as great southern land and a T-rex cover
The problem with self improvement is knowing when to quit.

My only memory of Icehouse was working backstage at one of their shows in the 80's. Back then I was a frail 150 lb bartender at that particular venue but they needed extra crew for that show and I volunteered because I thought it would be new and exciting. They didn't tell me the service elevator was broken and these guys had a semi truck full of stuff that wouldn't fit on that venues stage as they were unusually playing larger stages. So we had to unload the whole thing to get to the equipment they would use and load it all back in. Then I thought I would get to see them from the side stage. Instead I got to sit outside by the truck. Oh and it was about 95 degrees. I didn't even get a free t-shirt and I got paid minimum wage instead of the tips I was used to getting.

Long story short, I hate Icehouse because of this.

If that isn't a reason for hating a band, I don't know what is. No t shirt? Sheesh!
