they would now be like Yes with two interchanging lineups depending on whoever was in town or could be bothered turning up. Fanboys and girls would be in a constant state of frenzy wondering if they'd get THE lineup, and going home disappointed when they got the one with no original members. U2 would still be massive - its not as if there was a point when it was one band or the other, they have always been on different trajectories. Buns would still be a greatest hits band, but without any hits, obviously. Pete being a posh bloke with a posh education would, while still indulging in the odd bit of pharmaceutical recreation, probably have a number of totally legitimate businesses that allowed him to indulge his old chums by touring with their pop group when the mood took him. He would have known about the top ways to pay less tax without risking all your merch with some dodgy american bloke, as nice as he may seem, and certainly advised against using his paypal account. He would have probably had one of his own. He would have probably written the definitive bunnymen biog, or would that have been - DeFinitive (see what I did there?). And the pub quiz team comprising three bunnymen would rule the north west circuit. Oh and perhaps there would be a mac-less spinoff called 'the bunnymen three', using a disembodied robot voice as the singer.
