Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

It would seem the only person more sensitive than a Brit being mocked about his lack of cultural substance is a movie star being told Hollywood puts out crap movies.

I saw the Golden Globes and then Frank and I watched this awards ceremony. First one actually worth sitting all the way through.

An award ceremony does something right and then slams the host.

No - and he never should have said it. He should have said, "Really? You are really upset?"

He's a talentless knob. And I wish to fucking god he'r refrain from wearing those v-neck, figure hugging t-shirts as they do nothing for his man-boobs.

Agree VB. I can't stand his cheesy David Brent grin anymore since I watched him and Stephen Merchant doing half a dozen interviews on TV and radio a few years back using scripted "gags". It was obviously scripted as every single interview had exactly the same answers. Even with Gervais laughing in exactly the same places, like he was telling somebody something they'd never heard before.

I'm going to start the official "buy Gervais a one way ticket to America" campaign. You seem to like him, so you can have him permanently.

Only if you guys keep Gwyneth Paltrow.

That's a deal then. I'll have Gwyneth Paltrow then. Oh, did I forget to mention Chris Martin is thrown in as a freebie given that I'm having Gwyneth Paltrow? So, that's a used Gwyneth Paltrow for me, and a cheesy irritating Ricky Gervais and Chris Martin for you. Cheggars, I think we have a swap.

Success in the UK really is a four letter word, isn't it?

Not really a four letter word, more like two words with the first starting with "f" and the other "o". Ricky Gervais has done two popular and groundbreaking shows in the UK, The Office eight years ago and Extras four years ago. Nothing really since then. It's mostly been cameos in shite movies as the David Brent show goes Stateside, other than co-writing the well-received movie Cemetery Junction.

Gervais is yesterday's news only highlighted by British tabloids if he says something that might piss Americans off. Gervais will probably return to our screens one day to milk The Office for a Christmas special, either that or reform his 80s synth band and go on a nationwide tour that nobody will turn up to. "Comedians" have a short shelf life over here, same with musicians, ask Les Dennis and Mac - we get bored easily. Actually, I'm bored now.

Success in the UK seems to be gauged by 'making it' in the US.

Keep Madonna and give us Guy Ritchie and you got yourselves a goddamn deal.

While we're all in this swapping mood, I've got a plain plastic sleeve promo CD of 'Life of a 1000 crimes' which I wouldn't mind exchanging for an original issue 'Avalanche'.

Are you still satisfied with your swap Ghostie, or do you sometimes regret not sticking with the minge?

Heh I was just listening to Life of 1000 Crimes last night and considered posting how much I like that song. My Avalanche is the porcupine records second edition purchased through the website back in the Ivan days. Isn't there one before it?
