General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

sounds like youre practically there already ghostie. With the chatterers perhaps we should hang up our tendency to sway and tap and join in with the bouncing and singing whilst holding a nearly full plastic of rip off lager allowing it to spill freely. and then they'll move away. That works on me. There not only seemed to be alot of blokes there last night there seemed to be alot of big blokes there. The one blocking my view had a fairly stunning blond bint with him and occasionally comedically picked her up so she could see. On the chattering also, I went to an elvis costello acoustic gig over the summer - jolly good indeed btw, and there it was appalling really, the chattering. A whole bunch of bastards just talking amongst themselves. why oh why oh why etc.

bit disingenuous I'd agree. Wish all you want, you know it'll happen. You're not going all Scouser on us are you Dave?

A guy behind me at Glasgow, commented that he'd wished the band would play some older stuff like Killing Moon and The Cutter....... I had a wee chuckle to myself at that point as did his mate........

Yeah perhaps I am a member of the daddy dancing fraternity now. Although I don't make my moves any different to how I was at gigs before. Going to gigs I'd watch, sway and tap as far as far back as I remember. Then there is the obligatory head moving backwards and forwards, or up and down, that is quite often seen at indie gigs. For proper dancing, I was more into underground dance music, drum and bass in the 1990s than indie music. Couldn't do that to the Bunnymen or any guitar band.

My guess, as I don't have any, is the kids today will be trying all the moves of some choreographed dance troupe they have seen on Britain's Got Talent or on Glee, or if older, dances they have perfected to a Cheryl Cole mega mix they hear down their local club every Friday night. Bet they don't have up to 170 bpm to dance to, which usually required being intoxicated by alcohol or drugs to keep up. So maybe it has swung round and it is those older that should get embarrased now by their kids' kiddy dancing. Perhaps.

I'll never be that bitter!lol.

You know what I mean. All of us here in agreement that these gigs are deffo the best since Cream 97,the albums sound majestic back to back, the band and Will tight and angular. But MAc's out of his comfort zone quoting Simon Cowell, so the four/five songs he can play in his sleep are his 'favourites'.So ...how much of a comedown is it on the next tour when they go back to Mac's old fave setlist?A huge one. Will has got to kick his arse.

On an artistic note how relatively 'soft' do the encore songs sound in comparison to Crocs/HUH?Normally the Cutter is the biggest sounding track but even that sounds a little light after the first set.Just shows as Mac took more of a hand in writing how the sound changed.

well HUH isn't the jollyest of records so on monday I thught they came across of a bit of light relief in a way before going outside to freeze my knackers off. Last night the joy of getting 9/10ths of a seat on the train outweighed the necessity or otherwise of hearing those again. Lips was good I suppose but, well, I've heard it alot over the last ten years. Pride/Monkeys/Stars are Stars, not so often.

I have to say, I do enjoy that particular musical detour.

New here so sorry if not following protocol!
Crocodiles was my first indie album back in 79/80 and first saw the band at Leeds F club same year. So it was brilliant to hear those 2 albums with such good sound quality. The records do suffer IMHO from 80s production so I think we heard some tracks last night in their best ever form.
Why didn't they play RIIBoooks? Copyright issues, or principles re Wylie & Cope?
Agree with prev comment that our favourite was definitely not the encores, unlike Mac.
