Why is Ocean Rain such an impossibly great album?

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

I think we always want to think that every syllable of lyric is meaningful in some way.

Based on Ian's varied answers about the meaning, I don't think the chorus and the verses have anything to do with each other here. It was a case of having some good lines like "Fate up against your will" and "the killing time, unwillingly mine" building off of that and fitting it into one song. That doesn't make it any less of a great song however and it, like many rock songs and lyrics, can mean whatever it means to the listener.

1. No.
2. Belief is the psychological state in which an individual holds a proposition or premise to be true.
3. No thank you. I haven't finished the one I already have.
4. No.
5. What, Me Worry?
6. No.

I'm starting to believe in reincarnation.

So you believe for example that a person could abandon one identity and then return with another, while at the core still being the same person, with the same personality and the same desire to frequent music forums and online dating sites?

You must admit it is an intriguing possibility. Haven't you ever wondered what happens to your profile after you have a psychotic break?

The very thought of it is spooky. It's a study worth government funding, though in this troubled economy, one might have to span the seven seas in search of a philanthropic donor.

Someone call?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I don't believe in an intervening intelligent guiding force that watches over or interacts with humanity in any way. Except maybe the Cylon God or Santa Claus.

Maybe there's a DVD coming out?

Or maybe Warners all of the sudden cares about the Bunnymen and their legacy?
