I think though that they're trying to change their image with this new album?

I've got news for you, The VU were completely "moulded" by a stylist name Andy Warhol. They were as made up as Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
So, a band has to be VU for you to like them? They are, of course, the archetypical favorite of music snobs, having the most important attribute of obscurity during their music career, thereby avoiding the contamination of being listened to by commoners.
Coldplay may well suck, but your criticism of them continues to be nothing but who buys them, and where, and how, and for what reason, and a place called "Tesco's." I hope, for your sake, that "Tesco's" never sells VU records, because then you will be in quite a pickle as to what your opinion should be.

Do you have anger management problems?
Or do you just like defending bands that sound like Sting?
Honestly JT-whats your problem?
The majority of Coldplay fans cant name three out of the four members names. Is that a good fanbase?
And what exactly makes you an authority on the UK music scene?
Calm down me old china.

It's just not rock n' roll anymore.
