Geeks - cool or what?

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

Geeks can be very arrogant, take for example the Comic Book Store Guy archetype. In fact, they can be bafflingly arrogant, as if they have so many friends they don't need another one.

A true geek is oblivious to the fact he is a geek - and thinks his geek attributes are assets - which in the long run - they are.

Geeks are generally experts in their fields so i agree. I am an analyst - analysts are generally not great communicators - you just have to work on it.

College professor - put things in laymans terms - ive learnt to improve my writing in the last couple of years though you guys would not believe it.

Or the indie guy at the record store who makes a little face when you purchase an album that has sold more than 100 copies world wide.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

my mates consider me a geek ..
but it worked for me as my geekness got me the hottest chick in university ..

I impressed her with my knowledege of all things wierd and useless that she fell for me and she is now my wife ( or maybe it was because I was in band) .. ( she looks a lot like Veronica Lake -- obviously not Veronica Lake now as then she would be in an urn of ashes but a young Veronica Lake

Anyway lots of geeks are absolutely loaded ......

Nice story Moses - as long as you're comfortable with yourself and don't give a shit about what anybody else thinks about you.

All things weird and useless ? You dont come across like that on here?

Do you hide your geekiness?

There once was a man from the sticks
Who liked to compose limericks.
But he failed at the sport,
For he wrote 'em too short.

and now he can't get any chicks!

i love a good limerick!

Whilst I am a geek I was one who was aware of it and how uncomfortable it made others

So I learned to supress my outbursts to those only close to me....

It was obvious at school that those who were fools, sporty or gombeens where the best favoured..

It did not bother me in the slightest but I kept geekiness to a minimum to avoid a bashing

Until third year in secondary school where I learnt the art of making a fool look more of a fool, riduculing the guys who only spoke about sport (mainly achieved by talking to the girls and getting them to talk back) and letting the gombeen know that in this world they would find their true place in the pecking order and also winning in quizzes.....

One of my best friends in an uber science geek and he is the most sucessful guys I know

When I sense the Geekiness is making someone uncomfortable, there's blood in the water, and that's when I really poor it on. Did you know that Trellium D is poisonous to Vulcans? Or that diesel locomotives are actually electric locomotives with diesel generators? Or that raised-cosine modulation is very bandwidth-efficient?

Forgiven  Isn't that a track on Evergreen?

I believe the geeks get the chicks.

Sinusoidal distributions are great.

Uniform, poisson, hypogeometric, and the binomial theorem is the best.

And I love Pascale's Triangle.

I got Pi wrong the other day and now my work colleagues will not forgive me.
