If what Mac says is true in the Echo story, sounds like they're going to bring the circus to L.A. Guess I'll be skipping that trip to London then :frown:

Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

"Echo Arena Liverpool is a state of the art 10,000 plus seater arena"

I hope they aren't over reaching themselves here! A 10,000 seat arena sounds a tad ambitious to me, do we know how much the tickets are yet?

1) PG called gigs & tours (the contact # was in an e-mail today). They are not "sure" when the tickets will go on sale even though he provided them w/ the information. Is that 9AM time, GMT meaning here on the East it'll be 4:00AM our time?!?!?

2) Is it REALLY a repeat of the RAH gig?

3) How many Americans here are willing to give up Thanksgiving day/weekend for this? I am. I already booked our time off at work. I know I'm stupid but, this to me personally, is important & my family is cool w/me not attending the fat-dinner.

4) Will there be any form of surprises if world-wide people are willing to travel again (not just for the RAH gig too)?

Good luck everyone....seriously.

The Echo Arena has retractable seating, so assuming that 10,000+ tickets won't be sold, they can just remove the seats and put a curtain half way across the hall (same happened at a recent Editors gig I went to at the Alexandra Palace -- it had actually sold-out and claims to have a capacity of 8,000+ but there wasn't that many people). Looking at the Arena's website average price concert tickets is £26 + booking fee. Shall I buy one... hmmm... nooo...

they told you on the website exactly when they go on sale, why would you call? 4/4/08 at 9 am. they are in the UK, that means they go on sale in UK time, so it's 4 am your time.

why not? i'd expect so.

i would if i had the money to go over twice that close together.

i don't think they base their plans on that! but it's hard to say. you can't base your decision on spending another grand 2 months later on whether they are gonna do something special or not, you base it on whether you wanna be there no matter what. we all know they don't *usually* change their setlist much from gig to gig on a tour, so i wouldn't expect this to be that much different. i do know they changed the setlist for the 2 xmas shows because they knew a lot of people were going to be at both shows, but that was in the same weekend back to back. i wouldn't expect them to change it TOO much for a few one off shows. just my observation.

Be sure to get a good price for your RAH ticket(s).

In the meantime, where do you think they'd stage a show like this in L.A.? I'm guessing something bigger than their usual L.A. venue.

The Hollywood Bowl would be cool but probably not realistic. I saw Prince there and it was a pretty amazing show. The moon looked like it was about 100 feet off the ground which was kind of weird.

I'm trying to get excited about a possible L.A. show but am having a hard time. I'll go regardless but I think I'd prefer to hear the new album all the way through over Ocean Rain at this point. I wouldn't mind hearing Nocturnal Me live for the first time and The Killing Moon never gets old.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Mac could've just been blowing smoke out his ass about that "world" tour, so I'll hold onto my RAH ticket for now. Still plenty of time to decide ... should I stay or should I go

On the other hand, if they were to play L.A. ... Disney Hall and the Hollywood Bowl come to mind, but could they really sell out the Bowl? It seats about 18,000. Or maybe they'd play the Greek Theatre.

Very true. I think he also mentioned playing Moscow in addition to L.A. and NYC. Ummm, okay.

Red,

I see what you're saying but, I meant something else so, I should've clarified better. LOL

I should've meant to say, is there going to be any sort of discount offer subjected to travellers let's say, who stay at a certain hotel & buy a ticket? Like a mini-package deal. Or some other form of discount offer? I know that's crazy to say but, you just never know.

PG phoned b/c we were both unsure of what time they went on sale.

The band does what they want & obviously, I like them for that...

Yup, maybe he was getting carried away, but then again, you never know, eh?

Who's going to pay for this "world" tour? The label? I mean, it's got to cost a nice chunk o' change to hire an orchestra, for instance. And get a venue with good acoustics AND a stage big enough to fit an orchestra and the Bunnyboys. And fill it with the paying public.
