Rubbish lyrics

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

Okay, you're forcing me to put on my anorak now.

Turquoise Days pg. 102:

"In My White Devil I sing The Duchess of Malfio because it fits the meter better, and Julian Cope said in an interview ..." rant about Copey ensues.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

Oh, and I read an interview with Mac years ago where he said that he had never read any Webster and something about getting the "inspiration" for these lines from one of Lorraine's homework assignments.

*Puts on anorak.* They're plays.

Yes, plays. Sorry about calling them novels. Julian Cope would no doubt be disgusted.

Funny, you didn't call Cope's interview a rant. Perhaps you would prefer a Julian Cope fansite?

You said "Crystal Days", then changed it without acknowledging the change. Which is fine, but since we are donning our anoraks....

If you want a REAL lyrical scandal, here's this: I have it on good authority that Cope was not, in fact, a bouncing baby. Made it all up. Pity, since it is easy to avoid references to your infancy if you aren't going to be accurate about it.

That's because I didn't offer any opinion at all about Cope's interview.
I wouldn't prefer a Julian Cope fansite. I wasn't defending him or judging Mac.
I do, however, find the start of MWD weak, which doesn't infer that I don't like Echo and the Bunnymen.

I apologise for having got my ... Days mixed up.

And I have heard from very reliable source that although he wasn't a bouncing baby, he was in some respect a bouncing toddler as some pugilistic seven-year-olds once tried to play football with the three-year-old Copey as the ball.

Perhaps that caused the brain damage that eventually resulted in him having sex with Courtney Love?

My source doesn't have any info. on that. Probably best not thought about, anyway.
