The Bunnymen are life and death kinda stuff.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Instead of repeating the Ocean Rain performance, how about performing Crocodiles in its entirety? That is the album that kicked everything off.

By redoing Ocean Rain, it's like they can't find the time (be bothered) to rehearse or (re)learn other songs. Oh sorry. What am I'm thinking?

yeah, i know! i'm a little annoyed that they are repeating the ocean rain thing. it takes some of the special once-in-a-lifetime-ness away from RAH.

also not to put the bunnies in the same category as other aging rockers, but why don't they do a special 30th anniv. TOUR?? doesn't have to be a big one. could start in liverpool... maybe do a week or two in the states... (please?) and bring back a lot of the old rarely-played songs to the setlist... as a true 30th anniv celebration. maybe even throw in an efix song or two.

I just received the e-mails concerning this event.

All of the above posts are great suggestions concerning maybe, what should be done in order for all of this not to be seemed as repetitive/boring.

I hope that everyone gets the tickets/arrangements what they'd like.

Blinkilite, your suggestion is the best, it should be firmed & organized as a tour concerning, fans from around the world want to be part of this fine moment in their lives, after all of these years....

This was posted on the Seven Seas mailing list yesterday:

"There was mention in Mojo that they're set to play the Cathedral (Anglican I assume)...can't remember what else was said. Not seen it reported anywhere else...including the official site."

I think we now know the top secret venue.

I'm very annoyed and it does take away from RAH gig - orchestra or not! I've been struggling with the decision whether to go to the RAH gig for financial reasons. I've had the tickets since the pre-sale and just recently got word on my tax refund, so I finally decided to make the trip, now hearing that they are doing another "Ocean Rain special event" in Liverpool kind of pisses me off. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to the RAH gig, but I just wish I could do both. And when the hell are they coming back to the States? I thought for sure they would at least tour their new album in the fall after the RAH gig - now that seems doubtful if they are planning another Liverpool gig - unless it's going to be wrapped into their Christmas show. I really hope they do tour in the fall!!

I wonder how many other people feel this same way. A bunch, I bet.

Tho, performing Ocean Rain in a cathedral would be pretty cool. As long as the acoustics are good. On the other hand, sitting in a hard pew for two or three hours doesn't sound too appealing, unless there are comfy cushions involved

A special 30th anniversary tour could be really fun. Play stuff they don't normally play, maybe even play places they don't normally play. And definitely do a swing through the States.

It always amazes me how many people are prepared to travel such a long way to see the Bunnymen these days, I couldn't be arsed going down to London!
