Personally,
I have a work IP
I have an IP for my laptop
I have an IP for my media center
I have an IP for my Wii
Every time I use my wireless aircard, I'm assigned a different IP.
I don't know what IP my iPhone shows, but I'm sure it's different every time I log on

And... if I change the MAC address on my router, Comcast will assign me a new IP block .

So, not that I'm trying to stir the pot, but I could have a dozen IDs on here (not that I do), or could have registered a dozen times in Pete's Sandbox (not quite there yet).

However, I only have a single active username at a time.

I have two IPs, one at work and one at home. If another user shared those IPs it would show up. I too have one log in. I'm at a loss as to who else I'm supposed to be, perhaps someone could enlighten me.

I personally wasn't trying to imply that you use multiple usernames.
I just wanted to illustrate that a person could easily have multiple IP addresses and multiple usernames, and go completely unnoticed.

Then you completely missed the joke and the irony behind the username and the first post. Jact T got it, so did a few others, it was meant to be a piss take of the current mode of posting/posters on the official forum. In case you missed it there was also a thread in another part of the forum doing exactly the same thing.

Some forums have the facility to show you if posters share IPs. Its quite funny, you get to see who talk to themselves. If I had multiple IDs, the webmaster would know. I'm not interested in how many IPs anyone else has. Sorry.

Anyway forget it, it seems I've barged in on a clique. Are all new posters viewed as potential suspects of being dimwits, another webmaster or band member?

I'll make this my last post. The official forum has lost its way and has gone boring as hell, but it beats having to defend yourself because its being implied you're some kind of troll. :rolleyes:

How is it a clique here when the dude with 6 posts was questioning your user names? You should stick it out, you'll see this forum can be quite a bit of fun and a good time killer at work.

Anyway, I still got the joke. I get totally confused too when I try to read UW's post on the other forum as I've already mentioned. It's like some cryptic code that the other forum members seem to get. :eek:
