The Alarm

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Yeah yeah yeah the Welsh U2....whatev.
I saw them tonight with Mrs. Brian in a small club. Fucking fantastic. I saw them last in 1986. Mike Peters can work a room and still has the vocals skills at age 59. Great night. Too bad the modern Bunnymen can’t be like this. Maybe I’ll start a 68Guns.com page :-/

There was an excellent programme on the bbc about 18 months ago now about him, talked about how he and his wife both had/have cancer and he seemed a really good bloke, had that impression about him anyway but great to see just how nice he is. He definitely came across as someone who would get on well with Will, say no more! Thanks for posting, reminded me to buy tickets next time they tour here.

They were one of those bands the music press here hated. Dunno why. Also joe strummer who apparently used to turn up and busk outside venues where they were playing. He's dead now.

Yeah people thought they were U2 wannabes and pretentious and all that. Maybe they were or maybe that was just the perception but they wrote some catchy songs, are great live, and Mike Peters seems to be a pretty down to earth guy to me. I challenge anyone to listen to Declaration or Strength and not have those songs stuck in your brain for days and days.
