hi VT
long time reader, occasional poster etc
have there ever been any classic era boots of bunnymen rehearsals released ? eg HUH which was jammed out to form the LP.

I'm not aware of any rehearsal recordings or demos of HUH. The Crystal Days box set or the 2003 re-issue didn't include anything like that either. I'll take a look on one of my backup drives to see if I have anything but I doubt it.

Thanks Mr Brian
I've never come across any rehearsal boots from Crocodiles - Ocean Rain. Think would be interesting to hear as that was their primary mode of songwriting back then afaik
Joy Division have a lot of boots from rehearsals that have come available relatively recently 'Misplaced' etc, presumably leaked by Hooky - interesting listens

Also, analog tape was expensive, I wouldn't be surprised if they were taped over. I would think at least a portion of one in 4 albums would have shown up on the re-issues if they still existed.

Well there’s supposedly a ”first draft” of the whole Crocodiles album, not a rehearsal room recording but a studio recording:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4895Has anybody asked Will about this? Does it exist? If it does, I wonder why it hasn’t seen the light of day?

surely someone (bill butt, drummond - or will - already working with a four track etc) videoed or boom box cassette taped their rehearsal occasionally - during 80-85 they were the best four piece in the world musically - so be interesting to hear or see anything from this era....

Cope mentions it in the early seething-against-the-bunnymen chapters of head on. Him and his mate are laughing at how bad it is "sounds like [the producer] told them to turn everything up then sat and did the crossword." Just looked, his mate's called Yorkie and say a bloke called Pat Moran produced.

And Yorkie is the bloke from Space whose mother used to let tgem rehearse in her basement. Apparently nickname by Wylie because he was nice, but thick, like a Yorkie bar. How they larfed.
