Tried to get a couple of stalls seats but they were coming up as Grand Circle so I didn't bother. There'll probably be plenty on Friday, those boxes look nice.

online booking's a con I reckon (I didn't fight n two world wars to not get tickets because the sites closed two minutes after opening). PLus you know, lets generate some interest by pretending its sold out in two minutes). Someone once told me reject the first seats you get and do it again because they chuck the crap seats out first - and I did try it, got reasonable but not great seats, then had a nervous ten minutes when I couldn't get any but finally came up trumps (Morrissey gig this). Hardly a scientifically proved course of action though.

It’s that VIP thing again, I did it the last time at the Phil just to see what it would feel like to be a VIP, it just made me feel like a wasteful prick.

I hope so VB and thanks for reassuring me I haven't lost the plot I was trying for 5 in the stalls and when I was confirming payment it allocated Circle seats at Manchester . Managed to get stall seats for Birmingham and will try salvage things on Friday hopefully.

From my experience, the pre-sale lasted much longer than 4 mins. I've spent about 10 mins from beginning of pre-sale checking options for VIP and next price level in Liverpool and Gateshead and rejecting several seats I didn't like. At last I settled for row J seat in Gateshead, but something went wrong after I entered payment confirmation code from my bank and I didn't get that seat. By that time Liverpool stalls were no longer available and the options for VIP were either 0 or 2 seats in row F. I only needed 1 seat and row F seemed a bit too far for 85 pounds. I panicked and grabbed the next offered seat in row O in Gateshead. Both pre-sale codes I had were rejected after that, though at that stage I only used one to buy a ticket.
But I checked the website once again around 12.30 pm and one of my pre-sale codes worked and VIP seats for Liverpool miraculously appeared. I got one in row B and am quite excited about it. I only fell for the Bunnymen in 2015 and it will be the fourth Bunnymen concert in my life :)
I sort of cringe at the general idea of VIP (I normally go for budget options in everything and feel uncomfortable when I'm treated better than average) and I'm not a collector of merchandise (so I could easily live without the stuff included in VIP package), but it's really important for me to be at their next Liverpool concert (I first saw them on Dec 11th, 2015, and it blew my mind completely - I think the fact that they played their home city was part of the magic) and I don't want to have my expectations ruined by being too far away.

IMO you get a decent view wherever you sit in the Phil unless you're up in the gods right at the back so I would argue it's not worth paying over the odds just to sit near the front.
