Indie 103.1

This probably isn't anything the L.A. folk don't already know about but I don't listen to the radio unless forced and my buddy had it on this station around 10:30 PM or so and the guy played (among other good shit) Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, Slowdive and Electrafixion "Sister Pain". He then gave a pretty damn good summation of the events surrounding the formation, output and demise of Electrafixion. I was impressed, plus I don't care how many times I've heard a song on CD it's always special on the radio or TV when you're not expecting it.

Anyhoo
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Something about a brother spinning the tunes or sending a sunbeam of mix music- songs sound fresh. . .

Indie definitely has its moments. Lots of good weekly shows, plus Jonesy's Jukebox.

Any station that has the Bunnymen, JAMC, the Pistols, Buzzcocks, Depeche Mode, the Specials and even T-Rex in rotation among the current stuff gets my ear  Even heard the Grateful Dead one morning ... Uncle John's Band.

One thing the college kids seem to be doing is playing pop 80s top 40 stuff in a way to be rebellious. Seriously.

It's a good station considering the amount of time Jonesy plays solos and rambles on incoherently about nothing.

aw, you don't like his schlubby bachelor brother-in-law routine?

I'm gonna miss him while he's on tour with the pistols this summer.

I think Jonesy is a really good guy and we're lucky to have him here in the states. I just don't like when DJs talk a lot. It's fine when he has guest bands on.

What really gets me are those stations that seem to need THREE  DJs (like 2 guys and one girl) blathering on and cracking stupid jokes.

Is Jonesy the dude who was pitching for the BMW dealership on air?
