Mac's voice at the cavern

I was talking to somebody who went to the Cavern show. She claims that Mac has quit smoking and that you can really hear the improvement in his voice. Exciting news if true.

If this is true (and it would be great if it was) then don't go making fun of him when he packs on the pounds (weight, not money). Okay? Jack?

Someone had added that to the Wikipedia article on the Bunnymen but I wasn't buying it. People add bullshit to those things all the time.

This would be very good news if this is true. Weight gain is an unfortunate side affect of quitting with most people. Usually people in show business have enough vanity to prevent that however.

Err.... not sure what you're getting at there. I've never been one for mocking people for putting on weight.

Getting back to Mac's voice. Didn't Peter mention that Mac was quitting the cigs? I didn't put much stock in that at the time, but maybe it's true.

Now that's out of the way, I really hope Mac has given up the cigarettes (and maybe another vice or two).

Now if only he can let Will in on the creatve process we might actually have something to get really excited about.

Or at least a producer who can turn Mac's sissy songs into something a little more butch.

I remember Peter mentioning a while back that Ian has only been smoking on stage lately. So, maybe it's true and he's given them up completely.
