Bunnymen sign to BMG

Postby Mr. Brian » Wed Jun 14, 2017 5:20 pm

According to the Facebook and Twitter Bunnymen accounts the band has signed to BMG. This is their first time on a major label since 1999 or so.

No link just a photo of Ian (comments say Will is in Paris) with some BMG folks and this caption:

Echo & the Bunnymen are so proud to sign with BMG - back on a major label and it feels great.
Looking forward in sharing future releases very soon.
Way Up & Here We Go.

Let's see if they're all still smiling when the sales for the new album are announced.

Although I notice Mac isn't smiling so he probably already knows.

Well maybe something good will come of it. I don't think DIY works for them. Maybe they need someone in charge of the release and promotion that's not so close to the band but has a vested interest, namely money.

Mac looks a bit like the bloke from Maintenance who's just wandered in, had a glass of wine shoved in his hand and hasn't got a clue what's going on!

I know we've all become cynical over the years, lot's of letdowns and such but with every change I still wish them the best of luck. Clarifying my earlier post...we will never get back to Ocean Rain or anything anymore than we would expect another Let It Bleed from the Rolling Stones but my hope is that a 3rd party will force a better more cohesive album vs what you get when you are surrounded by sycophants.

Was his jacket designed for an orangutan, those sleeves look suspiciously long!

I wish I could find the pot bellied pig rail, I'm sure some bastard's swapped my shirts for extra smalls in the last few months.

Looks like a Klan rally!
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
