Actually I think Wylie would be great - but would it be ok if we went of topic of the bunnymen and asked about the Cocteau Twins, The Farm \, Ancients of Mu-Mu and Julian Cope?

It's kind of like dumping your girlfriend and not wanting her to go out with anyone else.

I got the impression (this is just my feeling, nothing based in fact) that both sides were very pissed off (that means angry, not drunk) about how things turned out.

First, Will was angry because Ian left the band and, in my opinion, Will got back at Ian in the only way he knew how -- by replacing him and not changing the band's name. (Of course, this doesn't take into account what role WEA played in urging or forcing Will and Les to carry on as is.)

Of course, this pissed Ian off because Will/Les continued the band without him and so he did what he does best -- bad mouth them at every opportunity.

And, as Noel noted in the interview, neither side won.

why does everyone assume that Will *got back at Mac*? maybe he just wanted to ...continue? and why should they change the name???? it was just as much Will and Les' band as it was Mac's. if someone quits working at McDonalds, they don't change the name....... but seriously, Mac left. they carried on. that's how i see it.

well its on record that *part* of the reason for carrying on was 'to piss mac off' - its in interviews and, if you were on seven seas in the early days, Will posted that on the forum.

But other than that I agree with you on all of this. I've said it before, and I'll no doubt say it agaion to anyone who listens.... thats exactly the reason - its not just the singer's band - and the fact that macs solo career didn't exactly set the world alight proves that no end. If there was a time to change the name it would have been when pete died. heart and soul of the band.
