Bingley

Great gig, and as you know I don't often say that. Mrs FC was even given to remark that they were better than she's seen em before, that mac's voice was good and wondered aloud if he'd had a personality transplant (she's funny like that).

Set similar to others posted though no Margins, All that Jazz, Angels and devils. All started great with the rocking stuff and kind of lost the younger bit of the crowd when it slowed up but the singalonabunnymen kind of worked (not buying it myself of course) and then picked up again for the final slew (is that even a word) of well known tunes.

Broudie came on for Do it clean (I think) - he's quite diminutive isn't he? Sarge seemsto have tweaked his basic sound but slipping into classic stuff for KM etc and was on top form, ripping it up as they say whilst looking like a grumpy harry cross from brookside.

Mac in happy mode - quotes: in answer to some shout from the crowd - we're not going to play any of your shite yorkshire (well that's what it sounded like), in walk on the wildside: Bingley, take a walk on the merseyside, in bedbogs and ballyhoo singing - taken from behind again (eh???) and so on.

Who's playing second guitar these days? Has Gordy gone or has he morphed into David Mitchel's homeless brother? Mrs FC not amused by him chewing gum all the way through whoever he is.

Only one encore though that might be because it all kicked off in the audience during the cutter. nearly went a bit 'York Racecourse' down the front and though we were only a few yards back didn't see exactly what happened, security dragging people out - seemingly started when one bloke got on his mates shoulders to be videoed with the band in the background and security seemed to think that was a bad idea, could have been something else though I suppose because earlier loads of the young scamps were aloft and letting foreworks off and nobody batted an eyelid. Bloke in front of me was out for the count though no actual violence involved at that point I dont think, security put their first aid into action by carting him out one man on each limb, so I assume there were no spinal injuries, then the were back at the front manhandling a couple more out of the way, and none too gently either. Band not involved atr all though and probably didn't see, and came back on for a single encore - no ocean rain though!!!

Searched the crowd but couln't find you BF - I guess it was too short notice.

Thanks FC, great review.

Cheers vb.
Also because I had my phone in my hand at the start I took the opportunity to shazam the chants intro. The result? It didn't know. Hoho. Minor comedy moment in the queue going in:
Young lad to his mate: It's always shite on a Friday though Saturdays usually good.
His mate: Who's on tonight then [me thinks....ffs]
Ylthm: Echo and the fucking bunnymen.
Well it made me smile at the time.

Kelley Stoltz is playing rhythm guitar...It was Gordie's choice not to do the tour for family reasons according to the E&TB twitter page. Tough job to have thrown at you although he's recorded many E&TB covers.

My mom is only 4' 10" so I'm not much taller FC.

Great review BTW!
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
