Which song? The only song I could stand of theirs was Telephone Thing and even then I deleted it from my mp3 player after one listen.

does this sort of thing really surprise you from M.E.S. these days?

Track listing on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Works-Echo-Bunn ... 8-1#disc_1

Sounds horrendous. A haphazard selection of, let's see...
-6 tracks of Crocodiles (8 including the two US edition tracks)
-7 tracks of Heaven Up Here
-6 tracks of Porcupine
-7 tracks of Ocean Rain (only leaving the title track and Yo-Yo Man)
-6 tracks of the fifth album
-3 tracks of Evergreen
-5 tracks of What Are You Going To Do With Your Life?
-Never Stop, Dancing Horses, People Are Strange
-NOTHING unique

So... why would anyone get this compilation overload instead of the albums? Evergreen's massively underappreciated here anyway. And with the tracks they didn't put on this, they're obviously missing out on several of the greatest songs ever written (Ocean Rain, In Bluer Skies, ...)
Set sail in those turquoise days!

I think anyone who owns Crystal Days (still the best $50.00 I ever spent) can forgo all future greatest hits releases. I'll still buy any new studio material though cause I owe the Bunnymen at least that much and there's always one or songs that keep me thinking they're gonna turn this thing around one day.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Agree with that. The Crystal Days boxset is a must have. I was also one that wanted a DVD of videos, which we got with the More Songs to Learn and Sing CD. I still say though that the complete Peel Sessions 1979-1999 is the only one that does really need a release, not further greatest hits albums. Some of the Peel Sessions have turned up on other CDs, but never on one complete album. Even the Peel Sessions setlist for the 1999 appearance has a pretty good collection of songs that would be worth hearing again.

Imagine owning all this on one double CD set:

CD1
1. Read It In Books
2. Stars Are Stars
3. I Bagsy Yours
4. Villiers Terrace
5. The Pictures On My Wall
6. All That Jazz
7. Over The Wall
8. All My Colours Turn To Clouds
9. That Golden Smile
10. Heaven Up Here
11. Turquoise Daze
12. Taking Advantage
13. An Equation
14. No Hands
15. Silver
16. Seven Seas
17. The Killing Moon
18. Nocturnal Me
19. Watch Out Below
20. Ocean Rain
21. My Kingdom

CD2
1. Rescue
2. Don't Let It Get You Down
3. Altamont
4. Villiers Terrace
5. Fools Like Us
6. Baby Rain
7. Rescue
8. I Want To Be There
9. Bedbugs & Ballyhoo
10. The Cutter
11. Rust
12. What Are You Going To Do
13. Back Of Love
14. Lips Like Sugar
15. Do It Clean

Bonus tracks (album versions and 12") based on Peel's Festive 50
16. Over The Wall
17. Never Stop (Discotheque Version)
18. The Back of Love
19. The Cutter
20. The Killing Moon (All Night Version)
21. Thorn of Crowns
22. Bring On The Dancing Horses (Extended version)

Think I'll pass on this release. I'm waiting for the next compiliation. Or the one after that. Or possibly the one after that. Definitely that one. Yup.

Record store Uk at least shows it with a different cover...instead of the just using the Seven Seas (the Platinum Collection) cover again...

That is a bit of a mystery. The official site reveals a rehash of the Seven Seas cover. Amazon.co.uk is also advertising the CD with that cover. While HMV.co.uk also shows the much better 80s style picture as you found. Which one is it?[/b]

They'll probably release it with both covers, so they can squeeze more money out of the obsessive-compulsive completist fans.

Nahh, the housewives in the grocery store will see how cute the boys are and buy the one with the picture of the band.

the HMV also says:

A retrospective compilation containing all the hits and key tracks, with a few rarities thrown in to boot. Simple, to the point, and fantastic value!

Which ones are the rarities? Track 12-15?
