For my 40th birthday next year I'd like Dr. Cheese to go to a Bunnymen show and write a full review. Please?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Strange little show tonight

The venue held about 200 people, Mac's performance was lose almost improvised.

It was like watching a bloke down your local on a Saturday Night.

Sing a longs, requests, banter and even name checks .

Mac was in high sprits, Drinking sips of Jack Daniels followed by sips of Milk

Not the best I have seen Mac but it was certainly a relaxed little show.

1 Hour Show with 15 min Encore.-

Set list
Rescue
Villiers
proud to fall
seven seas
pro patria mori
bedbugs
the game
angels and devils (especially for Karen)
zimbo
ill be your sunshine (new exclusive song)
nothing lasts forever/ walk on the Mersyside
dancing horses
killing moon
waiting for my man
rust
lips like sugar

Nice to hear he is still taking the relaxed approach for the solo gigs. Loose and improvised is much better than the bad days of a few years back.
What was new track like?

He only played half the new song because that's are far as he's got with it.

It was a typical Mac slow heartfelt lullaby type song.- He seems to be proud of it

It might become a Bunnymen song

Why does Mac tend to sing the same songs at all of his solo gigs?

He said it was because there the only songs he knows how to play on his guitar.

Yes Mac seems to have tempered, perhaps his demons have been laid to rest.

I hop so.

He did almost, if not all, of I'll Be Your Sunshine at Sale on Thursday.

Agree the setlist doesn't change that much but there have been variations to the shows I've been at.

Wouldn't hesitate going to more, his voice has been great and the wit, humour and banter, brilliant!

I enjoyed it - nearly didn't go when I thought about the journey all that way in the rain but glad I did. It was a bit like being down the pub or in his sitting room with him the centre of attention
