stranglers

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I still regularly listen to them. Amazing that Hugh Cornwell still cuts the mustard aged 61.

Was going to go to this, but didn't in the end.

Looking forwards to seeing Hugh Cornwall and band next week 5th May at the Manning bar Sydney University playing a selection of solo and stranglers bits then playing the 2nd set playing Rattus Norvegicus.Rhe count down has begun.

It will be excellent. I wished I'd gone to the recent Islington gig, but couldn't due to other stuff. I notice that Hugh seems to have got rid of his band's lady bassist in the past year, which is a shame. Kind of liked and got used to that line-up.

Great show Hugh and Co in fine form very much down to business the mix was great loved the throaty bass sound pumping through the whole 2 sets.
The all important set list
set 1
Nice 'N' Sleazy
Going to the city
Duchess
Rain on the river
Bear cage
Black hair black eyes black suit
Golden brown (played at a slower tempo than used to)
One burning desire
Always the sun
No more heroes
this ended set 1 my only upset that it wasn't long enough was too good to stop.
After a short 5 or so min break
Set 2
Rattus Norvegicus IV
Sometimes
Goodbye Toulouse
London lady
Princess of the streets
Hanging around
Peaches
(Get a) Grip (On yourself)
Ugly
Down in the sewer
then encore break and back on for
Walk on by
then off to sell the merch signing,a little chat and photo opportunity with the man himself.
Much fun was had at a great show.

Cheers, saw them in Manchester the other week.
It wouldn't work if Mac was a slaphead would it.
