Why did he feel the need to take heroin? I can understand people unwittingly descending into alcoholism, but why begin with heroin in the first place, especially a privileged Hollywood actor?
It's a great shame and I sympathise with his loved ones but heroin. WTF?

Mark "Rent-boy" Renton: [narrating] Take the best orgasm you've ever had... multiply it by a thousand, and you're still nowhere near it.

Allison: It beats any meat injection. That beats any fucking cock in the world.

That would be fantastic if it had no harmful side- effects, such as you look and feel like shit, you stop caring about anything else, and you are very likely to die.

I've no right to lecture because people do things for different reasons, I just wonder what tempted PSH to dabble with something with obvious, well-publicised dangers. Perhaps, it was part of the personality which made him such an actor.

Let's hope it serves as a warning to some others.

I thought Will Self explained it very succinctly on the BBC this week.

You're right. A sad waste.

Sick Boy: Personality, I mean that's what counts, right? That's what keeps a relationship going through the years. Like heroin, I mean heroin's got a great fucking personality.

Saw Anton Corbijn's A Most Wanted Man last night. Sad that it was the last PSH film I'll see.
