Stones Roses Reform

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Had a few pints of that beer in my time.

BF is right! I did see them in Mexico City and Coachella and the shows were incredible. The MC show was the first time I've ever seen them and that set a great bar for future gigs. Vocals were really good, John/Mani/Reni sounded amazing but they had no visuals in the background. Didn't matter, I enjoyed focusing on the music.

Coachella. I don't dig bands at festivals but the music soared out into huge polo fields and they had smoking visuals, some featuring what I thought were some of John's paintings, the iconic lemon image - John mentioned to me that 'the image was put through a brain scan machine' to get that look (someone else did it) and the vocals were good for the most part. A few dodgy bits but you already know what you're signing up for when you go to see them. Was still so stoked to have gotten to see them twice so far. Great lads.

Some vids that I took below. I will most likely never go to a UK festival or shows the size of HP, Glasgow Green, etc. for the idea alone that it's like a band of banshees in the crowd there (cup throwing, bottle hurling and so on).

Looking forward to their 2 album deal coming up. Heard a bit of a jam session a couple months ago. Stunning!!

The Buns will probably never catch up to these guys at this point re: everything.
Wait for that new album.... Listen before you buy it...

Stone Roses have a massive deal with Universal UK/Columbia Records US for 2.

Buns... Something is slated to come out. Don't want to put my head above the parapet but this has got to be their last attempt. Some will see what I mean when the songs come out.

I'm intrigued, I think you should spill your guts immediately!

Not literally of course, that would be disgusting.

If I spilled my guts then someone may rip mine out literally.

I have a feeling that Fountain-esque comments will arise. From there I can chime in about one part of it.

Hoping for a 5 track EP as that will be less painful than a full album.

So in a subtle, roundabout way you're kind of implying it's going to be another clunker!

No surprise there then.

Something that a friend in the know mentioned...if you are off doing loads of (really only mediocre) side projects

it is the sarge you're on about is it? Or the roses - because they've had 20 years of faffing around to amass some half decent material. Rather than being more concerned about side projects - and I get the feeling that they are more than that - he might just be getting up to match fitness. A friend in the know eh, that old chestnut. Well let me tell you internet buddy, I've got a friend in the know and says its the best album since ocean rain. In general I'd be mroe concerned about the words end of things myself. me and david bowie indeed.

I think anyone can have a "feeling" about the next album without claiming to be in the know via a friend of a friend of a friend. Doesn't make me feel well at all thinking about it to be honest.

oo getting mad on the internet IBS (that means something else in these parts too), nothing good can come of it. I know from personal experience. some bloke at work said the other day, have you heard whats happened yesterday in [insert name of big cheese meeting**]? I said no, and then he said, oh, paused a bit and said, well i can't tell you. and i thought, well that was a waste of time then.

Chez

Frankly, I'd rather talk about John Squire's hair.

As you were.
