Stones Roses Reform

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I think In Bluer Skies just saw them in Mexico City.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Just got an e-mail from FNAC saying that the Stone Roses are playing at a small venue (La Cigale) next Monday and Tuesday. Managed to get a ticket.

Good show. Ian Brown didn’t sound too bad. Looked like he was wearing in-ear monitors. Fool’s Gold and Waterfall were epic. Sound was a bit muddy (as it was the last time I went to La Cigale), and the drums and guitar were really loud in the mix so at times it sounded like the Stone Roses with John Bonham and Jimmy Page. Mani looked happy as a clam. John Squire has aged well. Swoon. What a glorious head of hair. (Like our Will, another guitarist-painter from the North-west with a lovely barnet.)

Apparently, even though they’ve only released two albums, they mix their set list up.

I Wanna Be Adored
Elephant Stone
Ten-Storey Love Song
Standing Here
Going Down
Shoot You Down
Fool’s Gold
Something’s Burning
Waterfall
Don’t Stop
She Bangs the Drums
Love Spreads
This is the One
Made of Stone
Breaking into Heaven
I Am the Resurrection

Cheers, Kounelaki, I will. This will be the third time for the roses. Spike island, Liverpool royal court and now this. I missed last year because I was abroad.

Great band, their first album comes close to heaven up here for me.

Brilliant stuff by the stone roses.
Johnny Marr was excellent, too.

I don't know if it's because I was sober and I noticed more but the amount of people who were 'aggressively drunk' was ridiculous. I think that's it now with these big outdoor events, just cant be arsed with the idiots. Next up Neil Young at the Arena- that should be ok....

People weren't throwing pints of piss around, were they?

Glad you enjoyed it.

I don't know if it was piss or beer....
The group were brilliant. I might be tempted to go and watch them abroad next time.
