The tracks from Candleland are surprisingly good live. Faith and Healing and Playgrounds and City Parks still my favorite Mac solo tracks.

That said I don't have any Mac solo bootlegs that I can recall.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Ian McCulloch - BBC Radio One - Live, Manchester Ritz 5th November 1989

http://www.filefactory.com/file/4thb8efhlert/n/IM_BBC_Radio_One_-_Live_Manchester_Ritz_5th_November_1989.rar

01 - The Flickering Wall
02 - The Killing Moon
03 - Faith and Healing
04 - Candleland
05 - Proud To Fall

I'm sure everyone has this one.

This is all I have from that era. I'd love to hear Ian/the Bunnymen perform these songs live. Wouldn't it be great if the band performed two nights in Liverpool this coming December and they never played any song more than once, drawing from his/their vast repertoire?

Thanks for these uploads, Candleland is absolutely beautiful, what a superb version this is with the swirling guitars. Listening to this just now on a sunny Saturday morning in May 2013, takes me back to winter 1989 and what must be my first time seeing Ian McCulloch live. I recall the show was due to play at the Sheffield Octagon (part of the University) but I guess the small turnout placed it in a small side hall which made it even better for the fans. McCulloch was brilliant that night, I recall some great versions from the album and some terrific banter with a couple of girls from Barnsley who were absolutely loving the show and totally mesmerised by the music, was great to see. I also remember the young bass player called Edwin or Edgar I think, who must have had some friends from Liverpool in the crowd who gave him loads of cheers whenever possible. Fantastic night, never forget it.

Turns out Edgar Summertyme has made some great albums by himself in the past years, check them out!

I must have seen Mac on the same tour as sonic youth. He played a half empty Aston Villa Leisure Centre. He spent most of the night telling stories and talking from the heart. It was an excellent show from a very emotional Mac.
