The best. The story goes they wrote it to show The JAMC how it is done.
True story.

I think you should post this on the official website, king of kings. It would be interesting to see what kind of response you get.

Agreed, though its probably more attention than humour. I think patience is rapidly wearing thin of these antics at the moment.

its all bollocks. might be passed on in good faith but, well, its still bollocks. friend of a friend my arse. dear deirdre, this friend of a friend has got a spot on the end of his nob, do you think its because he masturbates too much. etc.

I'll eat my hat. none of it stands up. rolling stones wait thirty years to ask. yeah right. or maybe they've now had everyone support them so they are going back to start again. either way, who gives... etc. we already knew about the album slippage. thats the thing that worries me more. you'd think thye might put out a bit of a taster but push it back another six months. hmmmm.

how can you say 'stones fans hate the bunnymen'. bit of a sweeping generalisation dontcha think. has anybody done a survey? Anyone with any taste would boo gunsnroses off. They were, are, and shall always remain shite. Saw the stones meself in 81 and they had black uhuru, the j geils band (grrreat) and joe jackson supporting. so a bit of variation there that could, if it were to happen, which it wont, accommodate the buns. now, wheres my sandwiches.....

I'm a Stones fan, I only hate some Bunnymen fans

I saw the Black Crowes support The Stones at Wembley on the Voodoo Lounge tour. That was a fantastic gig.

JAMC are great! ('cept live.) I find the following to be one of the most annoying statements in a moive
“What? You don’t know Jesus and Mary Chain? Why they picked up right where your precious Echo and The Bunnymen left off ... “ was a line by Jack Black from the movie “High Fidelity.”

http://www.culturebully.com/the-jesus-m ... -late-show
When Echo & The Bunnymen came together last year and performed on a bit of late night television the band honestly played as though it is almost thirty years old and there was little sense of urgency in the motions. The Jesus & Mary Chain have a few years on The Bunnymen, forming in 1984 rather than 1978, and the recently reunited group seemed to play with heart throughout its Late Show performance. The group seemed like there is still some sense of modern relativity within the words and music, though it seems every band who has made it this far is seen as relevant.

Right.

I guess that was a way of the writer saying that EAtB died after Ocean Rain.

I interpreted that line as a writer trying to throw out dialogue to an audience who really wouldn't get it, but might vaguely have heard of these band names so they think the writer is so knowledgeable, hip and with it. So that makes the movie relevant, cool and a must see.

But for folks who know better, it was a piece of crap line. But it was nice to get a shout out in the movie.
