Back in the days when Mac could actually give a shit. Mind you if I'd been singing the same few songs for thirty years I'd probably be a bit jaded too.

You could pull a John Mellencamp and tell your fans outright, "I'm not doing any old stuff. If that's what you want to hear you may as well stay home."

If only they could deliver a performance like that these days instead of standing around looking like they'd rather be anywhere else.

i like the story of neil young playing his new album to a load of brit fans who start shouting an moaning, so he says, ok just listen to this, and then i'll play so,me stuff you've heard before. and then comes back and plays the new stuff again. bloke on the telly said that so must be true.

buns could do that but, well look at the setlist. and look at the setlist for the mac solo tour.

Surely the objective of a Mac solo tour is to play your Mac solo material not just alternative versions of Bunnymen standards?

Maybe Mac has realised his solo stuff is mostly guff and doesn't cut the mustard?

See what I did there?

Didn't have a video when it was aired in '84 so I bought the best VHS tape I could get my hands on (or so I reckoned at the time) the BASF Chrome and my best mate taped it for me, still got that VHS which I treasured until I managed to nag my parents into a trip down to Radio Rentals for a VHS recorder.
