Stones Roses Reform

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Bloody hell, that's awful.
Purveyor of the 'semi-predictable one-liner (which) embodies the essence of the type of comedic crap we grew to love here. VB is a crazy fool'

You can only make statements like that if you are a member of a seminal pop group, VB.

Well, last night at the Hurricane Festival was everything I had expected it to be.
Mani and John Squire sounding mighty fine indeed. John Squire is also looking very well.
Ian Brown, however ...car crash!! His voice was very low in the mix, probably in the hope that the instruments would drown his meanderings along every possible bum note per song.
There were a few songs where Reni sang backing, basically carrying the song and pulling Brown back in key.
All in all an atrocious murdering of some of the best songs of the Nineties.
Monkey-man has NO stage presence and still sounds like the bride's 14 year-old brother who gets drunk for the first time and grabs the mic at a wedding.

The Cure, on the other hand, were fantastic! Robert Smith sounds like he always did and they played a brilliant set.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

Thanks for the review Kook. It seem like Ian, in addition from needing him as a drummer, needs Remi as a vocal tuner.

Brown must not care because he has certainly heard playback of himself singing. What Leckie must have gone through on that first album recording Ian's vocals.

You weren't kidding. Thank goodness the audience can sing.

And that was one of the better offerings!

Any time. Just wish it could have been more positive.

The Stone Roses announce three UK shows for June 2013.

The group will play two nights in London’s Finsbury Park (June 7 and 8) and one show at Glasgow Green on June 15.

The supports for the Glasgow show are Primal Scream, Jake Bugg and The View.
Supports for London will be announced shortly.

Well I'll be trying to get tickets at half nine on Friday. Not sure if London or Glasgow would be easier from Merseyside, as I'll be driving there and straight back. I had tickets for Heaton park but missed it because I was abroad.
The first stone roses album is up there with crocs and heaven up here for me. The second is a bit more like the fountain. No, it's not that bad.
