The Bunnymen were on form! Greatest hits set obviously......crowd were buzzing
before they came on and it was a great atmosphere.... Will was brilliant apart from
trying to ruin Rust and The Fountain on purpose (not so bad that Jo Public would have
noticed but Ian gave him a look and I think the sound guys turned Will's guitar down
a bit because he was playing far too agressively/loud for such melancholy songs)...
however, despite that, during Killing Moon Ian made it clear that he thought Will is an
amazing guitarist..... They looked really cool as usual and they had a lot of young people
pushing through to the front, jumping up and down singing all the words.....

Ian said sorry there are no folk songs! :)

A great night and I heard people on the bus on way back to Birmingham saying how they
thought Echo and the Bunnymen were brilliant and they were surprised how good they still were.....

Good quality boot.

Mac sounds a bit strained though. Think his voice might've aged quicker than we originally thought it had.

Trying to ruin or trying to save? His guitar on Rust when they play live is by far the best thing about that song.

People always say that Rust and The Fountain are Mac songs so I guess if you don't like
Mac solo songs you would say save but if you do like Mac solo songs you would just say
that it was Will having a little dig at those two songs and I guess the word ruin was a bit strong.....
I can't download the audio of the gig so I can't re-listen.....but it was enough to be noticed by me in the live situation (but like I said I don't think others even noticed and yeah his guitar is always great of course but it was a bit inappropriate for the song and obvious to me that he was having a bit of a dig about those songs) .
