I believe it was black francis who was fired from the Bummymen. I don't remember why though. Something about his ass.

He wasn't fired. He said he could go solo.

I actually heard it while watching a documentary on the Sky channel after stealing a satellite signal from my neighbor.

All the covers Ian McCulloch has ever done, of Bowie, Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, even John Lennon ("Jealous Guy") are at least as good as the original artist, and probably better. I was listening to Ian's cover of "Jealous Guy" on youtube and somebody's ears pricked up and he asked me who the singer was. Ian is that good, he improves a John Lennon song by putting something unique and his own into it. What a pity he never covered more Joy Division, I suppose he was busy enough with his own songs of which he has produced a lot of wonderful music for many years, and he probably didn't have time to cover Joy Division songs too.

Ian Curtis would probably approve. No other singer would do justice to his songs except Ian McCulloch. Even Robert Smith.

Mac covering Lover, Lover, Lover is the best thing to ever happen to Leonard Co...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I agree. Or Mac covering "There is a War" or "Suzanne".

I liked the cover of "A Thousand Kisses Deep" by Brett Sparks of the Handsome Family, and finally a female voice that did justice to "Take This Waltz", Hattie Webb.

But Ian McCulloch's Cohen covers are the best, and better than Cohen's originals. Ian seems to hate doing old tricks, but he could probably do the best ever cover of "Halleluja".

I love Ian's version of Bowie's "The Prettiest Star".

And I love Ian's version of the Doors' "When you're Strange".
