China set the standard with their opening ceremonies; everything else from here on out is going to suck (bingo) balls. And DD are HORRIBLE live. Whoever suggested they play should be impaled on a high jump pole.

Well i dont get the whole opening ceremony bit. Who gives a flying fig about that - apart form the politicians who want to look groovy. And the olympic committee who obviously have an interest in it being as expensive as possible. I seem to remember them saying it was going to be a simple affair (after beijing) but the other week they decided to chuck another few mill at it.

Instead of the opening ceremony they ought to have am massive game of british bulldog (I'm sure its on wikipedia) with the home team on one side and the rest of the world on the other. This will deter anyone from wanting to host the damn thing in the future as all their athletes will end up crippled (cue jokes about that not making a difference to us). And the next day get right on with the nitty gritty. I also think they ought to get rid of anything thats scored by judges - and if that includes the boxing they'll just have to keep going til someone falls over. Only things you can actually win by being faster or stronger, jumping fuether/higher or chucking something further than anyone else should be allowed. Thats should slim it down a bit.

You can't beat a bit of beaver.

Somewhere there is a DD fansite called CarelessMemories.com or something with wild speculation from middle aged Mom's that Andy Taylor will rejoin the band for this occasion propelling them back into the spotlight again.

I thought they saved the beaver for the Closing Ceremonies? I think they wanted a happy ending.

He's not even the hot one, so I cannot share this enthusiasm.
