Name, style - she worked with three guys on a song called Video Game - was really popular and they manufactured this Mad Men young women who craves guys like Fonzie.

Probably best manufactured image since The Black Keys.

Check out Rae Morris. She put a song out called "Don't Go." She's got a beautiful voice, and unlike Miss Grant, has done it all herself.

I'm all for other women, especially in the music industry, when they have real talent. I loved this chick named Tanya Donelly who was the singer/ guitarist/ songwriter for Belly in the 90's. I also think Dolores O'Riordan is extremely talented as a solo artist and with The Cranberries. Adele's voice gives me goose bumps, and while I don't care for her style, Florence Welch is a force to be reckoned with. I do not think women like Brittany Spears or Jennifer Lopez are talented singers.

i think 'real talent' is a bit subjective really. I think Hole are a great band and courtney's voice is great - and I like that mix of poppy and unlistenable. The fact that she's crackers and abit of a lush does no harm. Cant be that easy when your hubby blows his brains all over the bedroom carpet and the rest of the world oiks him up to sainthood, even if it was 20 years ago. Not listened much to this del ray woman and dont get the fuss around florence welsh, got a fairly reasonable blues voice but all seems a bit derivative. I liked a couple of the cranberries records back in the day but nothing extraordinary I'd say. Oddly enough, down my local they have an open mic acoustic night going on and zombie is very popular amongst the girlies that get up and do their thang.
