I can't find any new music that sounds like the old stuff :frown: I have a couple of songs here and there, but nothing consistent throughout an entire album from the same band. I really was into MGMT with "Oracular Spectacular", but "Congratulations" sucked. I'm just glad that none of the bands I like have broken up! I do listen to some Christian music, and while that genre doesn't conjure up images of rocking stadiums, you'd be surprised what's out there.

Christian music, huh? Interesting.

Cue withahip post of youtube video. If I had to predict, I would say it's the South Park one.

How about I set up a video camera and record myself playing the shit out of "Supreme Girl" on Rock Band 2, post that on youtube then post that fucker here.

Who'll look like the loser then?

My personal Fiery Furnaces favorite. Beautiful pop song with touching lyrics about a father lost at sea and his belief his daughter's singing will guide him home.

Yes Jack I know I'm a fag.

Sing for me, my daughter, sing for me.
When I’m away you’ll be the siren that will finally lead me home.

The girl around her father throws her arms to make him stay:
“My daddy dear it hails, it blows; you cannot go today!”

Sing for me, my daughter, sing for me.
When I’m away you’ll be the siren that will finally lead me home.

The April mud was on his boots, a’ clinging through the fields
And desperate it send up its shoots-but at water’s edge it yields.

Sing for me, my daughter, sing for me.
When I’m away you’ll be the siren that will finally lead me home.

The waves were pounding the dock; the pillars creak and growl.
The shoreman loading up the stock; the gulls were crying foul.

Sing for me, my daughter, sing for me.
When I’m away you’ll be the siren that will finally lead me home.

The father called up to the ship, “You need an extra hand?”
“Ah yes, for just a little trip: one month be back at land.”
The rain had stirred the sea too well; the salt poured on the deck.
At last the captain rang the bell: they ship was left to wreck.

Sing for me, my daughter, sing for me.
When I’m away you’ll be the siren that will finally lead me home.

It calm but now the fog if thick: so which way should they head?
The rest knew not and they must be quick-so father softly said:
Sing for me, my daughter, sing for me.
When I’m away you’ll be the siren that will finally lead me home.

Awwww...thanks BF. That actually wasn't too bad, although I kept getting distracted by the "What does it take to be a good kisser?" question in the Ask ad.

What's up with the two of them on the album cover?! She looks bored out of her mind, and he looks like he's going kill someone.

As long as they don't turn into the Lannisters, I'm fine with it

I keep forgetting to add Silversun Pickups' "Lazy Eye" to my "Awesome Song" list. That's a band I like consistently, and I hope their new album isn't piece of crap. BTW, the lead singer has a great nose (I think I mentioned my fondness for these facial features some time ago).

That I can also live with! The music was really good, but I didn't care for the singer. Was the band name a self fullfilling prophecy since they're all dead?

It was a car crash that took them. But it was weird how after they died the song "We Don't Have to Worry Anymore" was released. That's my eight year old son's favorite song. This one is mine and my nine year old son's favorite. The Exploding Hearts, Frank Black, the Bunnymen and Greg Cartwright all rotate as my all time favorite bands/musicians. There's not a day that goes by that I don't wish I could go back in time and slash those fuckers tires and spray paint "Wear your fuckin' seatbelts" all over their van.

These guys were the real deal. Their debut album is a garage rock/punk/pop classic. They were gonna be huge and made me think rock and roll could be exciting again.
