Trying to find the appropriate thread to post this in,

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

Having said that, I'm glad I read it. Loved the part where Mac said he wasn't bothered about the fans in addition to everything else. I don't think I'm going to be bothered paying for a ticket should I ever see them again live. If I do shell out the cash, I will buy it from someone offloading it or got it for free. Would rather give scalpers the cash knowing the ticket was already accounted for.

Just seen Julian Cope live last October. Even if some say he's a bit off kilter, he was awesome that night and was perfectly in tune to everything. It was a brilliant show. I just read his Head On book again fairly recently and I thought he was plesant in it.

Mgmt can't get a hold of Mac or else he will batter them. I just heard some recent tales from people that have seen him around town and it can't possible last that much longer hence mgmt (use the term loosely) taking on those other "projects." I'm sure they know their days are numbered....well, pretty much with everything.

Please tell more BS!

Do you mean of the recent sightings, DS? The dealings with were in the city center. Let it be known, I love my hedonistic rock-n-rollers but Mac is an absolute mess.

Is that new album out yet? Ok.

I didn't think he was saying he didn't care about the fans just that he doesn't like saying
"how are you all doing tonight" in a cheesy pretending to care way like some bands do...
they don't actually care how each person in the audience feels.....they are just going through the standard motions..... that's all....

It's not that he doesn't care, he just doesn't like pretending to care. He wouldn't have to pretend if he, you know, cared.

Shaz

thank you so much for the clarification!

i have been going to see bands for 25 years now and work in the music industry so i get it. the above read was a bit silly.

i also understand there's mac fans who want to portray him in a god-like way but come on already. it's almost as sappy as wendy.

Didn't mean to upset anyone - sorry.....

Actually, I was just trying to get an opinion accross but I obviously failed because you
didn't 'get it'..... oh well, that is the problem with forums I guess.....

I don't think you need to go to lots of gigs and work in the music industry to 'get it' ...

Thanks for the Wendy insult - nice one.....

that wasn't my point .....but IBS commented that she loved the bit where Mac said he didn't care about fans which for anyone who hadn't read the article was mis-leading
because he did not say that........
we will never really know if he actually cares or not......but that is not really important
to me or my point which was that he was just saying how he prefers to perform ie acting like he doesn't care which comes across as cooler than doing all the 'sucking up' to the audience tricks.....

I am not trying to spell it out for anyone.....just trying to say my opinion on the article
because I seem to have been misunderstood before...

wasn't really an insult, just stating the obvious.

no, you don't need to go to gigs or work in music but you have to have common sense. there was none of that in mac's article nor was there in the opinion......which is only my opinion. i think the only other person i've seen write articles like that recently was peter hook. just plain rude and it (at least) makes me not want to listen to any of his music or pay for gigs...or even go to them. totally off-putting but it's only my opinion - not those from mac fans who have the rose colored glasses on.

is his album out yet?
