Shins on SNL

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

That's a Dave Matthews if I ever saw one.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

"Give me the Collins."

He does look like Kevin Spacey and Phil Collins rolled into one, oh no.

They sound like Jackson Brown with his nuts in a vice.

Good stuff.

Oh good...I'm not alone in my apathy on this one.

"Hot" off the interwebs for you to listen to. It's alright I guess. Full of simple songs.

Not very impressed. Sounds like their weakest album. It seems like most good bands have 1 to 4 really great albums, the Shins had two.

Shins Rock Block. My favorite track from each of the first three albums.
Beginners may want to check out Sea Legs.

Admittedly, Simple Song is a bit of grower but it is getting a lot of airplay over here. I do like that guitar solo by the chick on Bait and Switch - it sounds like somebody else. The rest of the album or their music... not my thang really.

"Simple Song" is amazing. Otherwise I have yet to be won over.

As far as musicianship goes those guys he had on SNL were amazing players.

The guy definitely knows his music theory. He gets more chord changes in the first 30 seconds of a song than Elton John does in the entirety of Rocket Man.

Have you heard their Wincing the Night Away release? That's the one that got me into them and I also like the Broken Bells stuff he did.
