Dark Shadows

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

Dark Shadows

Postby watercolors » Wed Mar 14, 2012 12:22 pm

When I was a kid, we would run home from school to watch this gothic soap! Now when I see those old episodes, I crack up at how cheesy they were!

Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins???

http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/309282/20120305/johnny-depp-barnabas-collins-dark-shadows-photos.htm

Anyone else get into this one?

Bit of trivia: The Collins family came to Maine in the 1700s from Liverpool!

I never caught that one but I am appalled at my tastes when I was younger. It's best not to revisit certain things.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

When I read the title of this thread I presumed it was about a Cliff Richard backing tribute band of Nigerian descent.

You've never heard of the legend that is St. Cliff? Disgraceful, go and watch repeats of The Young Ones immediately.

Has The Peter Pan of Pop not reached the sunny shores of the USofA? He better get his bloody skates on.

I know who Cliff Richard is. "A Little in Love" brings back great memories of riding in the car when I was a kid. I think he did a duet with Olivia Newton John back then, too.

Johnny Depp can do whatever roles he wants, imo. He is a fantastic actor, and after seeing him in "Sweeny Todd", I was surprised by how well he sings. BTW, I hate musicals, so just the fact that I went to see it tells you how much I like his work.

How about "Land of the Lost", "Dr. Shrinker" and the "Shazam" series? I never missed those growing up.

I'm a chick, too, but I do not find him attractive; he is not my type.
