One thing is certain, it is a different show now and they need to get off that farm, not so much out of safety but just to get the story moving along now. I imagine they will be running into that other group at some point.

The farm has long clear sightlines, which make it a preferred Zombie defense postion. If I were in charge I would say stay there.
I wonder why they don't just dig moats and go out every morning and kill whatever Z's have fallen in. That's what I would do. Zombies can't climb out of pits.
