So the show was at Yoshi's in San Francisco, which is a Japanese fusion restaurant and jazz club combined. It was a small, intimate sit-down venue--little tables with chairs around them. The Mr. and I both admit we felt old. Typically, we'd see shows at the Fillmore (right down the street from Yoshi's), Slim's, the Warfield, or the Great American Music Hall, which are all venues that require long periods of standing on concrete.
PM did NOT have a combover--he kept his hair short, and his voice was in excellent form. While he definitely has aged, I thought he still looked great! His backup musicians were quite good as well--his bass player is also a violin virtuoso. He performed a few covers including "Hurt" and "Ziggy Stardust," as well as some old favorites and material from his latest album, "Ninth". I thought "I Spit Roses" was a good track--vocals were better live than in the official video, imo.
Are you happy, withahip? (I left out the part where PM and I had a moment together alone at the after-party.
