Bring On The Dancing Horses - Rare Version

Postby Onion » Thu Feb 16, 2012 6:48 am

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I had a copy on tape of a rare version of Bring On The Dancing Horses as a kid. It ended with it being a sort of medley with them doing All You Need Is Love. Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Would love to get my hands on it. Does anyone know how I can get a copy of it?

Cheers

Was this live?

BOTDH came out in 1985.
The All You Need Is Love thing would have to have been from the Life at Brian's show in 1984.
There were a lot of variations of the releases of BOTDH, 7", 12", picture disk but there were really only 2 versions of the song that I know of, the album version and the extended remix.

It was the last track on Songs To Learn And Sing and was like an extended verison of Bring On The Dancing Horses which then turned into All You Need Is Love, it wasn't live but a studio recording.

The way it was done was very similar to the way Soft Cell extended Tainted Love to become Where Did Our Love Go? If you remember that. Almost like 2 songs bolted together.[/right]

As I recall the Life at Brian's thing sounds like studio recording in that there are no audience sounds but it is live. It's possible there was some non UK/US release that had something tacked on to the end like that but I've never run across it.

I'll check it out, it was one track though and not two separate ones and it sounds just like the single version of Bring On... but with a minute or two of them playing All You Need Is Love at the end.

Thanks for that.
