Foos kick it at Grammys

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Foos kick it at Grammys

They took home five Grammys.....good for them. On the flip side, that Bon Iver (who is he kidding? We all know his name is pronounced 'bon EYE-ver' and not that snooty fake French 'bon EE-ver'). Plus his real name is Justin. I suppose that isn't as bad as Lizzy Grant changing her name to Lana Del Ray (who truly is awful).

Foo Fighters suck. Sorry. Their melodies are as memorable as Matchbox Twenty's.

This would up Bon Iver in my eyes -

I watched most of the Grammys which is unusual for me. My recap from memory:

Why was LL Cool J the host? Just so CBS can plug another NCIS spinoff? I guess he did alright except when he called McCartney his "homie". That was weird.

Foo Fighters are OK they have some good songs. It's nice to see a rock band there instead of dancers lip synching but other than their hits I know almost none of their music. Grohl seems like a cool guy.

Jennifer Hudson was great singing Whitney. I don't know how she didn't break down.

I enjoyed Taylor Swift doing a more traditional country song instead of a pop song with a country shell.

Chris Brown. That was ridiculous.

Minaj. Not sure what to make of that. People were laughing at first during the Exorcist spoof on film. Was it supposed to be funny or were they laughing at her?

I wish Bon Iver performed.

Bruno Mars was fantastic channeling James Brown.

I hate Maroon 5 but it was nice to see the Beach Boys perform. My youngest daughter, age 9 enjoyed them. At one point she cooed "I loooove the Beach Boys!"

Rhianna and Coldplay. Terrible. I've even been known to enjoy a Coldplay song now and then but that was just awful.

Deadmau5 was a nice change of pace. That style of music generally gets no play at the Grammys.

I missed Springsteen but not enough to go back and find the song on my Tivo I guess.

MCartney, I liked the Abbey Road medley. His drummer is fantastic! Paul is certainly showing his age in his looks and voice and he has had work done of course but it sure is nice to see someone sing live at a show like that with no backing tracks and no auto-tune.

Adelle deserved all those awards. She has a fantastic voice. Those songs will be remembered for decades to come.

That's all I remember.

This is why LL Cool J was in charge:

And I hate Maroon 5, too. Adam Levine sounds like an old man when he sings.
I saw Paul on "SNL" last season, and he performed about 10 times. There were hardly any skits. Adele sounds even better after her surgery, and she deserves every award she received.

Oh and Glen Cambell was cool too. I had the 45 of Rhinestone Cowboy when I was a kid. I played the shit out of that when I was 10.

Holy Crap so did I! That's kind of odd.

Thats not odd at all.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Convoy was in heavy rotation on the turntable in '75 as well.

Same here. That was the highlight of the night. And Whitney not singing.

I am soooo sick about hearing about her death! Enough already......unfortunately, this will get dragged out like Michael Jackson. Isn't there anything else going on in the world to report about?!

My parents had a reel to reel system that my mom played all the time; I'd just about kill for it now. I'm partial to The Carpenters because of it.
