18 + minimum age for Mac's show

Postby Malbert » Sat Jan 14, 2012 11:46 am

What's up with that? I can't get any of my girlfriends to see this concert with me, so my date will probably be my 14 yr. old son. I don't think I can pass him for 18. Has it been an issue at past concerts? I've never seen Mac solo, and I don't remember there being an age restriction when I saw the Bunnymen last spring.

It has been over here. My son (13) usually comes with me to the Bunnymen gigs but the last three Mac shows I've been to (Zelig's, St George's Hall and Liverpool Cathedral) were all 18+.

Did you take him hoping to get him in, or did he not go?

Didn't take him just in case. Took Mrs Voodoo to Zeligs and went on my lonesome to the other two.

I think 18+ is a good rule, given Mac's dalliances with younger women. It'll keep him outta jail

Also being 18+ improves your chances of surviving the Bathroom Beat Down, for those times when Mac is extra hurting inside.

The age restrictions usually depend on the venue. At least where I live if the venue is considered a night club or bar/pub that has live music it is 18+ or even 21+ but never "all ages". If the venue is mostly a concert hall then it can still be 18+ but that's where "all ages" shows tend to be. If you are a parent wanting to take your kid, sometimes the venue will make exceptions if you just call and ask a manager nicely.

Thank you again Epsilon.

Yeah that place was a dump...from it's glass elevators to the view of Times Square. Sickening.
