Sgt Fuzz's Grand Plan

Postby crystal89 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 8:57 pm

Maybe this Mac solo venture is a pretty good idea.
Let's face it, a bit of the old reverse psychology from the Sarge, as Mac
"borrows" Gordie's guitars.
All the old "sounds fantastic Mac" "You should record this straightaway!"
Perhaps Mac needed some convincing, though not much I'd persume, to do it solo, no pun intended though I know some on here will enjoy that.
This leaves Will free to do some of his painting, collaboration and to start work on the new Bunnymen album, which will be much better than that last one.
Also we all secretly want Mac to make 100% on pledges. Will he do it? How many Days?

We do? Then it will convince him we want to hear his burned out voice singing over an acoustic guitar. Is that what we really want?

Enablers.

This Mac solo stuff may have been the next Bunnymen album if you recall the interviews that fat cherry posted up from last year or before that. The ones where Mac said that they planned to record in October/November 2011 and were going to jam the tunes out like they did in the good old days, even though he'd already written all the songs himself. Will appeared to be not so sure or was clueless about Mac's master plan in other interviews. Maybe it was a good idea for the album to come out as a Mac solo in the end.

Mac's solo career has always been a bust. It seems like going back to that is like going from a marriage that lost it's spark and running back to that girlfriend that dumped you. Except now you are older and have more baggage.

Mac has always been (outwardly) overconfident, and what artist (singer, painter, sculptor) is going to say, "Look at all the time I put into this utter shit project?" I personally feel that solo work is a vacation from a band, and what's wrong with that? Will makes music that isn't Bunnymen music, and Mac writes things that could be Bunnymen music but isn't released as such. And of course we want him to succeed with his album. The down side to pre purchasing is that if it IS shit, he still will have sold a carload of music and make some money before word gets out that it sucks.

We'd need a member to rejoin and exhume another if he really meant to do that.
