Happy Birthday David Bowie

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Labyrinth. That was no Fraggle Rock by any means. That scared the shit out of me at the time. Horrible looking puppets and David Bowie.

Mr. Brian wrote:That performance of Heroes at Live Aid with the happy dancing back up singers in their 80'd duds was the worst. The worst.

What was good during Live-Aid in the 80s?

The Fountainheads from what I hear in an old Spin magazine but they were broadcast.

I was always a Queen fan but my new wave-only younger friends who just listened to Simple Minds and U2...their jaw dropped when Queen hit the stage and did the "this is how it's done my children" and then proceeded to own Wembley for the next 20 minutes.

I will never forget visiting a friend up at his folks' in Aberdeen. Pops is watching the tv bitching about a gay march. Ten minutes later a commercial for a Queen Compilation comes on and he spends the next ten minutes going on, "Now there was a singer, I tell ya!"

I looked over at my friend and he nonchalantly gave the wave off and I said nothing.

"If Freddie wanted to, he was going to have you."

Basically he was saying, "Who among us hasn't been raped by Freddie Mercury?" and the fellow next to him was just nodding in agreement.
"He was a mongoose, rather like a little cat in his fur and his tail, but quite like a weasel in his head and his habits."
