While not my favorite Bunnymen album, (that would be HUH) even "Flowers" is polished. Mellow and acoustic but polished.

I'm not getting this am I?

I don't actually like her as a solo singer, sort of 1960s Cilla Black type stuff that wouldn't be lost in a smoke-filled northern working men's social club once upon a time. Nice to see Will completely go another way with a totally different style of music, but it was obviously not written by him so maybe he's just sprinkling his magic guitar dust on her album and being involved in something different in the process.
